Performer’s Bios

Carmen Callahan is from Seattle, Washington, Carmen studied at Pacific Northwest Ballet School under the direction of Peter Boal. While at PNB school, she attended summer programs at San Francisco Ballet, Boston Ballet, Oklahoma City Ballet, and Miami City Ballet on full scholarship. She also studied under Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre as a member of their graduate program from 2015-2018. In 2018 she moved to Los Angeles, joining American Contemporary Ballet as an apprentice, and was promoted to the main company in 2019. While at ACB, Carmen had the opportunity to originate many corps and soloist roles in original works, as well as perform many neoclassical masterpieces by George Balanchine, including ‘Concerto Barocco’ and ‘Who Cares’. In 2023, she joined Hollywood Ballet, under the artistic direction of Petra Conti. Carmen has also worked as a guest principal artist with San Pedro City Ballet & Contempo Arts Productions, and is a dancer at The Realm Company. 

Hunter Wayne Foster was born and raised in Denver, North Carolina where he grew up studying theatre, dance, and karate. After attending UNC Charlotte for Dance & Theatre Performance, Hunter moved to New York City to travel and perform with contemporary/ballet company, Sleeping Beauty Dreams, in their first international tour. While living in NYC Hunter performed as “Older Billy” in a production of Billy Elliot, modeled for local makeup and fashion brands, and led indoor cycling classes. In 2020 Hunter moved to Los Angeles to work as a professional dancer, choreographer, movement coach, and a Pilates instructor. They have performed alongside artists Charli XCX, Hozier, Todrick Hall, and Kanye, as well as choreographing and dancing as a Rodeo Clown in Vandelux’s “By Your Side” music video. Hunter looks forward to continuing his own journey as an artist. With hopes to use their experience to inspire other artists to unlock the movement potential within their own bodies.

Leah Hamel is a Montreal-based dancer, choreographer, composer and cellist. Originally from Los Angeles, she moved to New York City to receive her BFA in dance at The Juilliard School. Currently a dancer with Cas Public, Leah has performed across North America and Europe, performing at notable venues including L’Opera de Paris and the Walt Disney Concert Hall. Leah is also an accomplished folk and classical cellist. Her choreography results in an interdisciplinary exploration of dance and live cello performance. Leah has danced with Laurie Sefton Creates since 2018.

Enya Kollek is a Los Angeles based movement and visual artist with a diverse background in many dance, modeling, and martial arts. Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, Enya is a first-generation American with dual citizenship in the United Kingdom. She earned her BFA in Dance with a concentration in Ballet from Point Park University and has trained at renowned institutions such as The Royal Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, Charlotte Ballet, and Boston Ballet. Enya has performed in contemporary ballet works, including Adam Houghland’s Cold Virtues, Amy Hall Garner’s Cadences, and Darrell Moultrie’s Beyond the Cover. Her classical repertoire includes roles in The Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake, Don Quixote, Dracula, and The Nutcracker. Since moving to Los Angeles, she has also had the opportunity to dance with Ballet Project OC as well as starring in the music video for Enchanté by Grammy-nominated artist Tim Atlas, walking in ZHU’s runway fashion show at EDC Las Vegas, and appearing as an extra in American Horror Stories: Drive. Beyond her dancing, Enya is a 2nd Dan in Tae Kwon Do, a discipline that enhances both the strength in her movement and the grace in her form.

 

Harry Louis is a native of Los Angeles, began his dance training at California DanceArts and Bayer Ballet Academy. His exceptional talent quickly earned him full scholarships to further his studies at the Colburn School and San Francisco Ballet School. In 2020, he joined the Royal New Zealand Ballet under the direction of Patricia Barker. Throughout his career, he has performed in works by celebrated choreographers such as Liam Scarlett, Benjamin Millepied, Christopher Wheeldon, and Loughlan Prior. In addition to his international experience, Harry has showcased his versatility across multiple Los Angeles-based companies, including The Realm Company, California Contemporary Ballet, and Keshet Chaim Dance Ensemble. His journey reflects a dedication to the art of dance, marked by a strong foundation and an inspiring range of performances.

Leah McCall is a professional dancer based in Los Angeles, CA.  She training includes Boston Ballet School, Miami City Ballet School, The School of American Ballet, and the National Ballet Academy of Denver and trained on full scholarship with Alonzo King Lines Ballet and Complexions Contemporary Ballet. Leah has danced with Los Angeles Ballet and Boston Ballet has performed featured roles in works by: George Balanchine, Aszure Barton, Alejandro Cerrudo, Menghan Lou, and Christopher Wheeldon.   Leah has made appearances in commercial projects including Jennifer Lopez's Vax Live Global Concert, FIDM’s Virtual Fashion Show, The Masked Singer Season 6, and Kevin Hart's 'What The Fit’ online video series featuring Los Angeles Ballet. She recently had the opportunity to perform live at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles, CA, during The Driver Era's 2023 concert tour. 

Zachary Medina was born and raised in Los Angeles.  His passion for dance began with Ballet Folklorico and imitating Michael Jackson videos. He refined his interest at The Los Angeles County High School for the Arts (LACHSA), where he trained in ballet, modern, hip hop, contemporary, and composition. At sixteen, Zachary earned a full scholarship to attend the Perry-Mansfield Performing Arts School in Colorado, where he deepened his studies in Modern, Ballet, and Composition. He went on to pursue two Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degrees in Dance Performance and Choreography at the Claire Trevor School of the Arts at the University of California, Irvine. Zachary has had the opportunity to performing in works by José Limón, Jirí Kylián, Christopher Huggins, Yuka Fukuda, Lar Lubovitch, Jenny Backhaus and Fiona Lummis.

Megan Pulfer was born in Omaha, Nebraska.  Megan received most of her training at Huntington Academy of Dance in Huntington Beach, CA where she studied the Cecchetti method, tap, jazz and modern.  At 16 she was accepted at the North Carolina School of the Arts.  Upon graduation she Megan began her career with Cedar Lake 2 and worked with choreographers such as Benoit-Swan Pouffer and Laurie Stallings.  In 2006 she joined Missouri Contemporary Ballet and later Quixotic as a freelance dancer.  Megan was accepted to the MASA Dance Journey with Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company in Israel, where she lived on a Kibbutz for a year, after which she joined Kamea Dance Company and lived in Be'er Sheva.  Megan is the founder and Artistic Director Emergent Dance Company and was a company dancer with Laurie from 2014 – 2019 as well as a continuing guest artist.

Jane Zogbi was born, raised, and classically trained in Raleigh, North Carolina. Her introduction to contemporary dance and musical theatre began at William G. Enloe Magnet High School under the instruction of Courtney Greer and Freddie Lee Heath. A Point Park University graduate, Jane holds a BA in dance with a minor in musical theatre. Dancing, singing and acting are all part of Jane's skill-set as a multi-disciplinary artist. As a performer, Jane has worked alongside esteemed artists such as Christopher & Charlotte D'amboise, Terrence Mann, Lillian Barbeito, Tina Finkelman Berkett, Tyce Diorio, Jae Man Joo, Sidra Bell, Alexandra Damiani, Jim Cooney, Michael Rupert, Anouk Van Dijk, John Carrafa, and Mike Tyus. Most recently, Jane has been exploring the commercial world and appeared in Lila’s Forde’s new music video, “Just a Minute.” Jane identifies as a queer movement artist and is currently based in Los Angeles, California.

Collaborators

Paige Twyman (Visual Artist) is a Los Angeles based contemporary artist and archivist. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting from the Maryland Institute College of ARt (MICA) in Baltimore. Her work has been exhibited in galleries and exhibitions on both the East and West Coasts. Through her artistic and archival work, Paige explores themes of memory, preservation and the evolving narrative of contemporary art.

German Diaz (Visual Artist) is a multifaceted artist, whose practice encompasses painting, sculpture, and education. A graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, Diaz has returned to his roots in LA, where he passionately explores themes surrounding the urgent realities of climate change, the plight of marginalized communities, and the organic cycles of decay and renewal. His recent collaborations with Viva La Puppet, Laurie Sefton Creates, rasputin marionettes, and The reDiscover Center have showcased his dynamic approach to storytelling through art. Diaz's work has been exhibited at prestigious venues including Exhibit A Gallery, Top Hat Gallery, Seis Gallery, and a solo show at white's art gallery, capturing the attention of audiences with its profound social commentary and visceral aesthetic.

 

Adrien Padilla (Photographer) is a dancer and choreographer from Rosemead, California. He earned his BFA in Dance from Cal State Long Beach and received a Graduate Certificate in Arts and Culture Outreach and Advocacy from the University of Denver. In addition to dance, he works behind the scenes as a stage technician and is a photographer, focusing on dance, conceptual photography, and solitude art. Adrien is also in his 7th season as a dancer and teaching artist with Backhausdance.
